Thursday, August 11th, 2011

Well it was time for me to move on to big and better things, which for me included a new blog site. Feel free to browse this site for past posts and Project 52 and my Forever Fridays projects. I am actually kind of sad to be leaving. This blog has been my home for about a year now. Sniffle.

Well, see ya at the new blog site! You’re gonna like it. I know I sure do! :)

Session with Future Photographers | Hattiesburg, MS Photographer

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Tonight I met with two very beautiful young ladies who wanted to do some photography with me. I am their youth leader at church and I just love them! Their excitement was so refreshing! We started our session with me doing a few shots and then I handed them over one of my 5D’s. They took several shots of Emma and then I took Emma and she and I worked together while they took pictures of each other. I am not sharing their photographs here. I am going to get their images to them so they can process them to their liking. Processing an image is a very personal thing and I wanted them to keep that for themselves. But…I had to show a few I got tonight. I know, I know, Emma is everywhere! Well, she does not mind taking pictures and she is actually quite good at it.

The first two are of my lovely girls. I had to show you how beautiful they are. The others are of Emma and I playing around. When we were leaving I looked through the images they took and let me tell you, these girls really have potential!

Who do they get their good looks from?

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

There is no doubt they are from me! Haha! Just kidding but there are some fabulous genes running through my girls. They are just perfection to me. As we all know around here the weather has been so yuck. But, this past Saturday we caught a break and had a beautiful day. Well for us it was still pretty chilly and Max was sick so we were stuck inside. I decided to put together a quick impromptu session with the girls. They helped pick out what they wanted to wear and we had a great time. I only shot for about 30 minutes. The girls were great and so willing to be my subjects. As you can see, we had a GREAT shoot!

We set up with a backdrop in front of their big window in their room. It was pretty tight, but we made it work.

Elise First Day of Preschool!

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Today Ms. Elise headed out the door for Mrs. Kim’s Preschool. This is a big year for her because it is her last year before she heads off to Kindergarten! I wanted to take a different approach to Elise’s pictures. I wanted more of a “lifestyle” feel. I was able to do this mainly because I had more time. I love these!

Look out first grade – here comes Emma!

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Okay all of you moms out there. This time of year comes with mixed emotions. My oldest child, Emma, went off to first grade today. She was up early and was dressed and ready to go while I was still hitting snooze on my alarm. For Kingergarten and First Grade, she chose to ride the bus for the first day of school. She is very brave!

We started wearing uniforms this year. As you can tell from these pictures, she does not seem to be bothered one bit having to wear a uniform. To make her outfit a little creative, I made her headband. I am not crafty, but I had fun putting this together. I hope it does not fall apart today!

MOM TIPS:

This was early in the morning so this was not about spending a lot of time getting the “perfect shot.” I just wanted to capture these precious few moments before she got on the bus. I did not really make her “pose” per se. I just followed her around and took pictures of what she was doing. I do love taking pictures of my children with them looking straight into the camera. I feel the images like this of my children are very moving. The very last image I got was her jumping in excitement at hearing the bus. Priceless.
