{Forever Fridays} Week 31 “Back to School”

Friday, August 5th, 2011

Today was Emma and Elise’s first day of school! Gosh, I cannot believe Elise is old enough to be going to Kindergarten. Max and I had a pretty sad morning by ourselves. We moped in front of the TV and ate Vanilla Wafers.

When Emma started Kindergarten someone suggested taking the same picture each each. For instance, we started taking Emma’s picture in front of the front door. That way, you have a reference point each year to see how big they have gotten.

So here are their pictures this year. I went back and looked at Emma’s Kindergarten and she has grown alot! My sweet babies!!!

{Forever Friday} “Film” | Hattiesburg, MS Photographer

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Well this week I delve back into film photography. My parents bought me my first 35mm SLR when I was a Junior in High School. I loved taking pictures of scenery and random objects. I still have my mom’s old 35mm that is at least 30 years old. Years ago I acquired an old Minolta from my brother. It originated in 1981. This week I bought a roll of 24xp Kodak film from Target and set out to see if I could still shoot film and them actually turn out using the Minolta! (Digital has me soooo spoiled!)

It was a pleasant surprise to find that they actually did turn out and all of them in the proper exposure. I have many that I took but this is a favorite of mine. This is of Elise. I took it with color film but converted it to b/w in Photoshop using Florabella’s Blush b/w action.

This week was such a challenge for me. I have not tried to capture a silhouette before, but I like a good challenge!

{Forever Fridays} – Week 25 | Hattiesburg, MS Photographer

Friday, July 1st, 2011

This past week we all got dressed and ready to head to the neighborhood pool. Well just as we were leaving dark clouds rolled in. Afraid of lightening, we had to postpone our swimming. As the storm blew in, it brought with it the most magnificent wind and cool air. Elise, myself, and Max stayed out there for a long time just enjoying the wind. Then it started to rain. Max and Elise had a blast playing in the rain. Elise was so cute riding her bike in the rain and Max just stood there in it and loved it.

I was able to capture a couple of cute ones of Elise from inside the garage. What fun memories we were making that day!
